Privacy Policy
This page explains what personal information Villas Aracari collects when you contact us or book a stay, how we use it, and how to reach us about it. Last updated October 2026.
Who we are
Villas Aracari is a collection of vacation rental homes in Pilas, San Isidro, Alajuela, Costa Rica. For anything related to this policy, write to us at the email address at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
When you contact us or make a reservation, we may receive:
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- The messages you send us on WhatsApp, by email, or through a booking platform such as Airbnb, including voice notes and photos.
- Reservation details: dates, number of guests, the villa you booked, and payment status. We do not receive your card number from booking platforms.
How we use it
We use this information to answer your questions, manage your reservation, send you check-in instructions, and help you during your stay.
- Messages you send us may be read and answered by an automated assistant that drafts replies for us or sends them on our behalf. A member of our team can read every conversation and can take over at any time.
- We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Services we rely on
To communicate with you and manage bookings we use the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta), Airbnb, Uplisting (our reservation system) and email. Each of these services handles your data under its own privacy policy, and your messages pass through their systems.
How long we keep it
We keep conversations and reservation records for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry or your stay, and afterwards only as long as Costa Rican law requires us to keep business records.
Your rights
Under Costa Rica's personal data protection law (Ley 8968) you may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do so, email us at the address below. We will answer from the same address.
